During certain times of the year and primarily in the spring and fall, we'll spend a few weeks on the mighty Mo. This may well be the finest fishery in the state and if you're looking for big, thick, tackle busting rainbows and browns this is a good option. The Missouri is basically like a huge spring creek and the techniques and opportunities for big fish on small flies make this one of Montana's most famous rivers. Extraordinarily fertile and loaded with biomass the Missouri hatches are incredible.
Since this is about 6 hours from our base here on the Kootenai, we require at least a minimum of three day trips. When on the Missouri we base out of Craig, Montana and work with the various lodges and outfitter friends and colleagues we know over there.
Our annual Missouri Spring Fling in May is not to be missed and offers a great early season trip for those of you hankering to get on the water during the early season.
