Montana Fishing Report: Kootenai River

Daytime temps expected to be in the low 80′s with lots of sunshine again today. Get the hoppers out, fish a long beadhead dropper, get your feet wet and catch fish! Discharge from Libby Dam is steady at 14,600cfs. There’s lots of wading, still lots of caddis action in places, and ants are now showing up as well. Fish have definitely moved into faster water are being found on points and seams and where water quickens and drops off into buckets. Attractor patterns are also effective as of late and big royal wullfs, trudes and parachute adams in sizes 12 and 10 have been moving fish. The Kootenai is in great shape and waiting for you!
