It’s not an exaggeration to say here at Linehan Outfitting Company we hunt whitetails twelve months a year. Yesterday Sean and I hit the woods on snowshoes and went looking for antler sheds. Hunting sheds is a great way to stay in touch with bucks that you may have hunted during the prior season. It’s also valuable to help gage which bucks made it through the season and headed into winter still alive. Shed hunting can also help affirm a particular buck’s home range and give you an idea where to start looking for him during the spring. The snow is still deep and while we did not find any antlers, we did see plenty of deer that look healthy and seem to be wintering just fine. This obviously bodes well for the upcoming season.
