MONTANA SNOW PACK REPORT 2/5/2025
This time of year we're constantly thinking about snowpack since that's what keeps our rivers and streams flowing through the summer and fall fishing seasons.
Right now here in Kootenai River country there's nothing but good news to share. We got our first real storm the last week of November that offered knee deep hunting conditions. Since then, excepting a short dry spell in the middle of January, we've been getting good precipitation.
As I write, I'm dreading the afternoon chore. Joanne and I will be manning the shovels since we got another four inches last night. It's also time to get the snow rake out and tackle some of roofs as well. All our cabins and our home are built to withstand heavy snow loads but it's always a good idea to be safe rather than sorry.
For now, it looks like we'll have good water conditions here on the Kootenai River for the 2025 season. Can't wait to see you all.
