With a measure of both pride and humility we’re excited to let you all know that Linehan Outfitting recently received the 2026 Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Guide Of The Year award. This award is specifically given to a guide who offers the highest quality upland bird hunting experiences.

Being Orvis Endorsed is no small task. Many companies asked for interviews. Few make the cut. And it’s one thing to be accepted into the program but it’s something entirely different to sustain the necessary quality consistently for over three decades. Joanne and I could not be more proud to be partners with the Orvis Company.

What exactly is the Orvis Endorsed program?

More than four decades ago, Orvis set out to make planning a world class fly fishing or wingshooting trip easier. Orvis sought out the finest operations, destinations, and service providers across the country. The result was the Orvis Endorsed Program.

Each year, members of this exceptional network are recognized as the best of the best. These honors reflect the genuine feedback of the customers we share, whose experiences remain the ultimate measure of success.

This recognition also reflects an operations commitment to conservation, stewardship of its natural resources, and partnership with Orvis in delivering outstanding fly-fishing and wingshooting experiences.

I wouldn’t be worth anything if I didn’t mention the Linehan Outfitting four legged family members and the real reason for this award. Our girls, Lucy, Poppy, and Gili and all the others that have come before do the lions share of the work during the grouse hunts. They’re the ones that are absolutely responsible for any success and they’re the ones that give everything they’ve got day after day. We love them with all our hearts.
